By | Video | No Comments

Brodie Moore battling in his AE86 Sprinter!

If you haven’t seen the full story check it out here – https://youtu.be/g9P3e4KYjb8

The brown AE86 was shot throwing manji’s on one of Melbourne’s freeways, ACA caught onto this after I assume the truck driver took the footage to them and it escalated pretty quickly!

Well, that was epic! And I didn’t even drive…

I have been to a lot of drift events over the past 3 years within Australia and overseas, from grassroots to national championship events and Drift Challenge Australia left me more pumped and excited than most of them!

I usually avoid shooting at local events because it’s the same thing with different weather but this was totally different, DCA bought a whole new experience to Tasmania (Which most drivers haven’t seen before, I’m jealous I was behind the camera and not the wheel) The driving from local drivers was next level, it was the most exciting thing I have seen since standing on the wall at Irwindale, the House of drift!

Hats off to Luke Fink and the team for creating this series and how it was ran, the whole concept of DCA is summed up in one word ‘Gangsta’. More driving and less bullshit, that was defiantly shown on the weekend.

Take a look through a couple of photos below, I have a in-car video of Brodie Moore who ran 2nd on the day so stay tuned for that!

Shoutout.

PHOTOSET – Type X RPS13 Build Progress

By | Photo

Finally all parts have arrived to finish off my car! Front guards took longer than expected and instead of going metal I went with Kmak Aero’s + 27mm non vented guards. Unsure if I will regret fibre glass guards but we’ll see!
One advantage to fibreglass I noticed is it holds the front bar alot better, the metal guards seem to flex letting the bar droop but the fibre glass being quite solid holds the bar in a better postion.

I’m so stoked with how the Type X copy kit turned out, it’s from JSAI Aero in NSW and the quality is amazing. So much better than the Kmak guards I purchased. Thanks Josh!

Oh yeah… I decided to go wide body. Two reasons. #1 – My wheels will actually fit without a stupid amount of camber. #2 – I save money on the massive dent on the LHS of the car, I don’t have to get it repaired 😀 Win!
The wide body guards are +30mm Origin copies, I think they are from Viva Garage a long time ago! They fit good, I will take them to the fibre shop and get them fixed up a little and the body line taken out. Same with the front guards!

All I need to do now is get the dent pulled out a little to line up the over fender, roll my guards so I can lower the car more and so its hard against the over fenders (I don’t want to chop my guards so rolling them should work okay)

Then I need to finish the prep for paint, and paint it! At the moment it’s money restricting me from taking it to the body works haha.
