PHOTOSET – RPS13 Tear Down

By December 6, 2014Photo

With all drifting for 2014 finished here in Tasmania I decided to pull my car apart, give it a fresh kit, wheels and paint! After clipping a tyre bundle at round 4 and crashing into a mate at the last practice day it’s long over due for some love!

The paint on the car has always sucked, it’s meant to be a candy apple red but had faded over time to a silver. Along the skirt of the car the paint is still mint but the rest is shit.

Engine, steering and suspension will all stay the same for 2015. The car handles awesome and makes enough power for now! Next year they are bringing in a tyre rule which should even the field.

The car currently makes 216kw at the wheels with a standard SR20 motor, 2871r turbo, nismo injectors, intercooler and Power FC computer. It’s running 17psi of boost. It’s a pretty grippy setup running no camber in the rear spinning 235/40/18 595 Super Steels, it’s sweet to drive 😀

I decided to run with a Type X kit, I will order skirts, front bar with lip and 25mm non-vented front guards next week when I get them priced up. They will be fibre glass copies but I’m fine with that, finding genuine is too much effort haha. I already own the rear pods and type x lights which is handy. For wheels I am planning on buying a freinds set of XT7’s in a grey finish, they are 17×9 all round.

Tomorrows mission is to sand back the car and bash the massive dent out some more! Wish me luck.
